SAMLITE LED Lantern Flashlight Review

In this article, I’ll be reviewing the SAMLITE LED Lantern Flashlight.  So today we have the SAMLITE USB Multi-functional Searchlight. It comes in a nice box and is well packed. On the box, you will find the specs. This light has three modes which are high, low and strobe.

It has a runtime of 13 hours on your low settings. On the high settings, you’ll be getting around 5 hours. You also have the option to choose a 180- or 360- degree light with this torch. It can serve as a flashlight or a lantern (pretty obvious, right?). This light is a great asset when camping or even used at a roadside breakdown if you encounter power failure.

It’s about 7 inches in length and about 4 inches wide. The light weighs around 1.1 pounds. So you’re getting a fairly compact and light considering its a lantern too. That being said when you compare it to other flashlights this light is pretty bulky, it is a hybrid though. IF you have space in your bag and don’t mind carrying this around, you’ll probably appreciate the multi-use function of this light. This versatility makes the SAMLITE Led Lantern pretty popular.

It can also serve as a rechargeable USB powerbank! So you can charge your phone or whatever you need from this light too.

The light comes with a shoulder strap and a has a hanging loop too, so you’ll be able to hang it or hold onto it with ease. It has a red light to notify you when the battery is low. To charge this light you will need 2×18650 Li-ion batterys. IT does come with two when purchased.

It takes around 5 hours to fully charge the lights.

How many lumens is the SAMLITE lantern?

With this light, you get a max output of 250 lumens.

What is the beam distance of the SAMLITE Lantern?

This light has a beam distance of 400m. 400m is about one-and-a-half times as big as a Tennis court or about 1/4th of the size of a Hockey Rink.

Is the SAMLITE lantern water-resistant?

Yes, this unit is technically water-resistant but not what you’re looking for. It has a waterproof grade IPX-4. This means its resistant to Splashing of water. You should NOT dunk this unit in water and expect it to work when it comes out.

Can I charge my phone with this lantern?

A special feature is it can also be used as a power bank, charging cell phones or other electronic devices that may be used to create a successful outdoor experience.

Is this unit heavy?

No, this lantern is not really heavy. It weighs 1.1 lbs.

How long does the battery stay charged?

This depends on the mode you use the light on.

If you use the light on the 180 degree setting at a high power, it will run for 10 hours. When used on a low power, the battery will last for around 30 hours. If you have the strobe setting on, the battery will last for 60 hours.

Now when used on the 360 degree lantern mode at a high setting, you will only get 5 hours of battery time. On a low power you’ll get around 20 hours and when on the strobe setting you’ll get about 40 hours of battery life.
